Pavilions, paved paths and European-styled chairs(BEIJING, April 18) -- Tianjin, an Olympic co-host city 130km southeast of Beijing, is gearing up for a massive landscaping project in preparation for the upcoming Olympics.
The project includes the planting of trees alongside urban roads. In the Heping district downtown, dozens of different tree species will be planted in 85 roadside projects, covering an area of 269,000 square meters.
Pavilions, paved paths and European-styled chairs are featured alongside newly planted grass as part of the garden and forest authority's plans to beautify and modernize the city's urban areas. New light, acoustic and electrical fixtures are also part of the project.
